Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the free and Pro versions of SwaggerHub?
The SwaggerHub free account is the best way to try the SwaggerHub platform, get familiar with the editor, and start designing and documenting your API. SwaggerHub’s Pro accounts are built for teams, organizations, and enterprises that manage multiple APIs and require additional capabilities like: privacy, versioning, and visibility control.
How long does the trial last?
Free accounts are free until you reach the limitations outlined in the table above. You can trial the Pro version or upgrade at any time. In a trial, you have 14 days to evaluate SwaggerHub.
Do team members need a SwaggerHub account to view my API in SwaggerHub?
Both public and private definitions can be shared with others easily. These users are called Collaborators in the system, and can have read-only or read-write access to an API. Specifically for public APIs, you do not need to be a registered user to view the API but will need to create an account if you want to edit or comment on the API spec. For a private API, you will need to be a registered user to view, edit or comment on the API spec.
What happens to my work on Private projects when my trial ends?
Don’t worry — we will save your work in SwaggerHub. You won’t be able to work on the API while in a free account but your work will be waiting for you when you decide to upgrade.
How is SwaggerHub different from open source tools like Swagger Editor, Swagger UI, or Swagger CodeGen?
SwaggerHub brings together all of the open source Swagger tooling into one easy-to-use platform in the cloud. With SwaggerHub, you don’t need to download any additional tools to design, document, or build your API, although we do offer integrations to other platforms to sync and deploy your API. SwaggerHub also allows you to save and backup your API in the cloud.
I have existing APIs, how can I use SwaggerHub?
You can import an existing Swagger definition into SwaggerHub. Within SwaggerHub, you can document an existing API and iterate on the specification.
How do I learn more about the SwaggerHub private cloud/Enterprise plan?
The best way to learn about SwaggerHub’s Enterprise capabilities is to contact the team directly at email@example.com
