We’re excited to announce that Swagger has received the 2016 API Award in the API Infrastructure category! The 2016 API Awards are the API industry’s largest award event, taking place during the API World 2016 Conference & Expo at San Jose.
The 2016 API Awards were judged by the API World advisory board. Swagger was selected on three different criteria:
- Reputation in the API Industry
- Recent Media Coverage
- Innovativeness of the API initiatives.

This award is testament to the fact that innovation with openness can lead to great strides in the API space. The win was possible due to the contributions and commitment of all the people involved in the Swagger open-source ecosystem. In an effort to drive the industry forward, Swagger was donated by SmartBear Software to the Open API Initiative under the Linux Foundation to standardize the way REST APIs are described. Swagger will continue to move forward with its commitment to integrity and community driven innovation!
