Master the Swagger Tools & OpenAPI at SmartBear Connect

  June 29, 2018

We’re excited to announce the release of the SmartBear Connect 2018 agenda! For those unfamiliar, SmartBear Connect is the annual user conference from SmartBear that will be held this year in Boston, MA on October 29th & 30th.

SmartBear is the company behind both Swagger open source tooling and the SwaggerHub API platform. At last year’s event we had an awesome turnout of Swagger users who traveled to Boston from around the world to connect and learn with other API enthusiasts.

This year, we’re adding even more Swagger to the event, with two full days of trainings, workshops, and presentations focused on API development with Swagger and the OpenAPI Specification.

Looking to take your API development to the next level and get more from your Swagger tools? Check out the Swagger sessions you can look forward to at SmartBear Connect 2018:

Day 1: Tool Training & OpenAPI Certification

The OpenAPI Specification (formerly known as the Swagger Specification) has emerged as the world’s standard for defining RESTful APIs. The latest version of the specification, OpenAPI 3.0 (OAS 3.0) is gaining traction across the API ecosystem.

If you’re team’s looking to adopt the latest version of the OpenAPI Specification, you won’t want to miss our Day 1 training.  We’ll kick the day off with a hands-on workshop, covering what’s new in OAS 3.0 and then open the afternoon up to breakout sessions covering:

  • API Design & Standardization Best Practices
  • API Documentation Dos and Don’ts
  • Adding Swagger to Your Work API Workflow

And we’ll close the day out with an exclusive look on new features and tools being added to the Swagger ecosystem.

Day 2: Swagger Users Take the Stage – Hear from the Community

On Day 2 you can attend sessions presented by SmartBear customers and industry experts, such as “All Over the Map – Using Domains to Contain Your Data” by Cyndi Recker from Viasat. She will give an overview of how Viasat utilizes SwaggerHub Domain technology to enable internet-in-the-sky growth, resulting in a scalable solution that’s able to manage a complex environment.

Another Swagger user, Travis Koenig, will discuss how his organization, RealPage, has implemented a design-first approach in its API development process utilizing SwaggerHub. Don’t miss his session, “Modernizing the Enterprise API Development Process.”

These are just some of the highlights of the SmartBear Connect 2018 agenda – check out the full schedule here.

Hope to see you in Boston this October

We’re looking forward to coming together with the Swagger community at SmartBear Connect! Whether you’re an advanced Swagger user or just getting started with the OpenAPI Specification, you will have valuable opportunities to meet and learn from our product experts and other Swagger users to help you take your API development to the next level.
