Over the last few months, we’ve received a ton of valuable feedback from the more than 100,000 API developers, architects, product managers, and others that use SwaggerHub for their API development. You've told us what features you need, and how we can help you get more value from your SwaggerHub plans.
Today, we are excited to announce new functionality for SwaggerHub Free and Team plans, to help you get even more from SwaggerHub.
Introducing “view-only” API Consumers for Team & Enterprise plans
SwaggerHub acts as a source of truth for your API documentation, providing a central platform to host and maintain your OpenAPI definitions, and securely share your API docs with internal and external developers.
We’re now making it easier to host and share your API documentation from within SwaggerHub, with the addition of a new user role, “API Consumer.” API Consumers have view-only access, and can be added to any API in your organization, without counting toward your limits of designers.
Team plans come with 30 Consumers. Enterprise plans include 100 consumers (with the option to purchase additional Consumers).
Plans for smaller API teams
When we released the SwaggerHub Team plan in 2017, we set the minimum team size at 5. But time and time again, we’ve heard from developers who are part of startup organizations or who are working on projects within larger orgs, that they only need a couple of people to be able to make updates to API definitions to start out.
Starting today, we are introducing a new two-user Team plan. The two-user plan gives editing privileges to two team members, and also includes 30 view-only Consumers.
Private APIs now available on SwaggerHub Free plans
One of the things we often hear from individual developers working on a free SwaggerHub account, is the need to control the privacy of their API projects. Previously, privacy control was only available on Team and Enterprise plans.
We have officially added private APIs to Individual SwaggerHub plans.
Get SwaggerHub for free for your Open Source project
Along with changes to SwaggerHub plans, we are also launching a new program for developers working on open source projects. We believe that SwaggerHub is the most powerful and easy-to-use platform for developing APIs with the OpenAPI Specification (OAS).
We want to help even more teams leverage OAS for their open source projects, by offering free accounts for open source projects.
To qualify we are asking for the following criteria:
- Your project is licensed under a license approved by the Open Source Initiative
- Your project source code is available for download
- Your project has a publicly accessible website
